Born and raised in Berks County, Pennsylvania, I raised a family in State College, got my undergraduate and master’s degrees in Special Education from Penn State.  I moved to Los Angeles where I lived for 30 years, teaching special education at UCLA and Beverly Hills High School.   During that time I got a Ph.D. in Psychology and set up a private practice as a licensed psychologist.   While in California I spent some “quality time” bait fishing in Mammoth Lakes and the Santa Monica surf as well as a little fly fishing from a float tube on Crowley Lake, California.

When I retired in 2006, my husband, Stu Silver (LA native!) and I moved here, to State College.  I’m happy to be “back home” and close to my son and daughter-in-law.  My husband was happy to renew his skills as a fly fisherman.   I am happy to say I developed my fly fishing skills and I love it.  We live in Lemont and I have Spring Creek in our back yard.   I joined the SCCTU board in 2009.
