Mark was born and raised in Chicago (the city not the burbs). He always wanted to go fishing and he managed to master the cane pole and worms at an early age. He was fascinated with fly fishing. He used car wash money to buy a fly rod and reel and taught himself how to fly fish while in grade school. In college, he learned river fishing techniques while fishing for smallmouth bass on the St. Joe’s River in South Bend, Indiana.
Mark's career brought him to State College in the early 1980’s and fly fishing for trout was the perfect past time to pursue. Mark has been a long time member of TU, but did not become active until his retirement several years ago. In addition to fishing, Mark enjoys golf, hiking, and sampling the fruits of the vine.
