The mission of the Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited is to conserve, protect and restore Spring Creek’s coldwater fishery and watershed. We accomplish this though Advocacy (government and community), Outreach (Youth, Veterans, Women’s Group), and Conservation (Habitat projects, Watershed Cleanup, Citizen Science).

Awards

George Harvey Memorial Award
George Harvey was the father the Penn State Fly fishing program, an author, and a mentor to the area's fly fishing community. The George Harvey Award is named after him to acknowledge his outstanding contributions to conservation and preservation of the Spring Creek Watershed.

The Robert F. Eberhart Order of the Sulpher Award
Since 1982 a feature of the Spring Creek Chapter Annual Banquet has been the presentation of The Order of the Sulphur award and patch, originally named Order of the Green Drake. This award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Chapter and to Trout Unlimited.

Phillips-Brenchley Mentorship Award
The Phillips-Brenchley Mentorship Award, recognized by the Women’s Anglers of the Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited, is awarded to someone who has shown commitment to mentoring women in the sport of fly fishing. The award is in memory of Jean Brenchley and honors her appreciation of being mentored by Al Phillips.

SSCTU has received numerous national awards over the years, including the award for the most outstanding Trout Unlimited Chapter in 2016.
