Born and raised in Europe, Sima grew up loving nature and the outdoors. While living in Scotland, she was president of her university’s Conservation Society and spent her weekends restoring native habitats, controlling invasive plant species, and working with local nature reserves. While her love for animals steered her career path to veterinary medicine, she saw the impact that habitat fragmentation and loss had on the animals she studied and worked with, like the Scottish wildcat and the Pennsylvanian black bear. Sima is excited to get involved in local conservation efforts again with the Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited.

Sima works as a full-time veterinarian. She is also an active board member and volunteer at Centre County PAWS. In her free time, she loves fly-fishing with her husband Tim, hiking and running with their English Setter Pippin, gardening, and traveling.
